Doubling Down

You will play with players that double down (double your bet, one card down=double down) on all 11’s and will insist that you double down on all 11’s, in fact, they will offer to cover your action (put up their money.) Tell them “No~ I’m ok.” Do not double down on all 11’s. Double down on 10/ 11 & A2-A5 when the dealer shows 4/ 5 or 6 (the bust cards.) Remember, 2’s and 3’s are not bust cards. The mechanics of card play on doubling down is this~ a player should not double down on 10 or 11 unless the deck is at least plus 2 (there are 2 more face cards left in the deck as opposed to small cards (ie:card counting principle.) When a player is doubling on all 11’s there will be times when the deck can easily be minus 6, minus 7 or more making that a very bad bet. I’m not saying you have to be a card counter. I am saying play VERY basic strategy when using your bankroll. You can afford to play more aggressive with house money. BUT you are waiting for basic opportunities such as doubling down on the
formula above ( 10/11 and soft doubles A2-A5) when the dealer shows 4/5/6 giving the player TWO CHANCES TO WIN, either the player makes a hand or the dealer bust.
